Day #8

SANTA MONICA BEACH DAY!!!!

Today started off amazingly, we had a massive sleep in and I got more than the 7-8hours of sleep that I have had so far!
We caught a bus at 11 to go and explore Santa Monica Beach and Pier.

A group of us were really hungry when we got there so we went straight to Bubba Gumps for a feed! I had Jenny's Catch and a Pink Lemonade. It was so tasty.

Then we went to third street and looked around the shops. I went into Tiffany's but didn't have near enough cash to buy anything!

After a bit of window shopping, we went to the Cheesecake Factory - this time for real cheesecake and boy it was worth it!

Then we went back to the hotel and got ready for
Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.

I was a jumping object for Tony Hawk,
Did some dancing with John Travolta,

                                           Helped E.T. phone home,

Went to a Demi Concert!

 Helped perfect
Tiger's game,
And thanked the President!   Swooned over Captain America,

Then something happened... we got stung being too cool for school!

Sorry Mum!

Day #7

#7 otherwise know as the busiest and best day EVER!

Today was a massive dance day!
We started dance class at 10 at IDA again and this time we took a Dance Hall class with Cedric Botelho (totally look him up on youtube!). He is the best! I had to most fun... EVER! We learnt how to twerk, which was hilarious and the whole class was buzzing with attitude it was amazing!

After that we had a session with another lady learning Burlesque dancing which was quite different and cool. Not something I have ever done before, a pretty cool opportunity.

Then the coolest thing happened! Matt Steffania came in to talk to us about being a choreographer and dancer in LA and I found out I can take a class of his later on in the tour! I was so super excited to meet him and he is the most down to earth person.

Also Chris Brown was rehearsing with his dancers in the room next to us!!! Talk about stars!

Then we had Disney rehearsals for an hour and then we had to get ready for our performance tonight!
We danced on Hollywood BLVD one of the most famous streets in the world! It was so exciting to see our names in lights and have people off the street cheering for us. A surreal feeling.

Got home quite early, walking up the stairs was a mission!!!
Ready for a day at the beach tomorrow!!!

Day #6

EDGE, DANCE, CHAT

Today was a very busy dance day! We took classes at EDGE dance studios. I did Jazz and Hiphop! The instructors were really cool and had awesome personalities to match their talent. After about 3 hours of dancing (two classes), I was exhausted! But, we still had another hour and a half of dancing left! Sorry about the video, I mucked up the ending a bit - not the best take but the only one I have :)
After this we went to in-n-out burger for dinner. This was pretty tasty! I had a cheese burger and fries.
When we got back we had a personal development session with Kim. We talked a lot about having a positive mindset, visualising success and creating vision boards.
Tomorrow is another dance day! Sorry not a whole lot to report! I have however, caught up on my blogging for each day! WOOHOO!

Day #5

Universal Studios Theme Park Day!

Today we got up super early to catch a bus to Universal Studios! We had a great day, caught an underground train, did some awesome rides and had lots of fun times with my group.
We were all pretty tired when we got back. I had a two hour nap!!!!

At night time we had a reservation for The Magic Castle. This was MIND BLOWING!
It is a place where only invited guests are allowed to attend and our name was at the door! The magic castle is a magicians show and restaurant. You walk into a room with no other doors but the one you came in. There is an owl on a bookshelf that you say "open sesame" to and the bookshelf slides back to reveal the bar and stair case to the show! Once we were inside we weren't allowed our phones so sorry guys but no pictures here! The shows were incredible. I was left in amazement trying to understand how they had done what they did. There were so many trick doors and illusions (a piano that plays requests by voice to name one!) that I can't even begin to describe over text. I am hopefully going back here when Andy arrives! We got back at 1am, ready for a full day of dancing the next day... haha

Day #4

Today was another big day of dancing and exploring.

The dance studio we went to was called Millennium and we took two different classes there. The first class was Jazz and it was old school. We did a lot of stretching which was awesome because all of us were super sore!
The second class was a SALT class. SALT is a cool new kind of dance fitness. We had these weighted sticks and did a lot of jumping and crunches!
I think my favourite of the two would be the SALT class, although I prefer GRIT back home.
After the dance classes we went to a hiphop store called Nappy Tabs. There were some pretty cool clothes here all baggy and hip hop ready.

Next we went to Warner Brothers Studios. This was amazing! We saw a whole lot of sets and got an idea of how it works off screen. We also danced in the middle of their new york set, famous actors and films had been filmed exactly where we were!
Some of the sets we saw were: Friends, Batman, ellen, Pretty Little Liars, Grease Live, Fuller House. We even got a wave from Bog Saget (Danny on Full House), which was pretty cool!
I got a coffee from Central Perk (friends coffee shop).
It would have been so cool to meet Ellen! Maybe next time...

Once we got back to the hotel we decided we would go shopping! I ended up buying a few things: dance gear, socks, presents :)

Day #3

Day Number Three!!!

So day three we had a visit to Grove Shopping Mall and we went to a live show! Today was great, but being at IDA is still my favourite so far!

Grove shopping mall was okay - apparently this is where lots of celebrities shop, but we didn't see any. I didn't buy anything here. It was all super expensive! We saw some beautiful Louis Vuitton's which I would have loved to have tried on, the price tag however, $1200 WOW!
The cool thing about LA is people take there dogs everywhere!!! This little guy has the world record for standing on his back legs. He has his own snapchat and instagram too!

Also Grove had my all time favourite restaurant The Cheesecake Factory! Unfortunately it was so super hot that I didn't feel like eating much. Here is a chicken sandwich and salad.
Here we did have an amazing waiter! He asked us if people mentioned Flight of the Concords and the All Blacks when we said we were from New Zealand - that was new! People normally say Lord of the Rings and Australia!

Finally it was time for our live show! We went to Dancing with the Stars! I am on TV, week 5 and the promo of week 7 of the current season! This was such an amazing experience! We weren't allowed to take our cameras in with us, so here is a photo of us on the bus before the show! Although the show goes for 2hours we were there from 2pm till 8pm that night! We weren't allowed any food or water and didn't really get the chance to go to the bathroom either! That's showbiz!

Day #2

Hey team!
So cool to see that so many people have read this already!!! Sorry for not posting earlier but the last few days have been manic!!! So hot! So busy!

I will make a different post for each day - sorry if they do not all get finished today!!!

Day 2
We started with some team building - where we had to make different american things using our team mates and our bodies. This was pretty cool. It meant that we got to know people from other groups on the tour - there are groups from Auckland and Wellington too.
Here we are making a high heel shoe!
Then we went to IDA. (As you know this is where Matt Steffanina teaches!!!! Unfortunately, I have not meet him yet - but am planning on taking one of his classes later on...) We got to take 2 different classes. The first one was a musical theatre and the second was jazz funk. In total we danced for 4 hours! I was shattered!!!!!!

Musical theatre was really interesting our teacher talked a lot about fitness and quick thinking. We had to play the alphabet game (one person says each letter), then we had to go backwards and then we had to say an animal instead of the letter! I am totally going to do this with us for our snack time when I get back! We also did this crazy starjump routine, then squats and bear crawls across the floor! I was so exhausted at the end! After we had done all of that we then also had to learn a dance!
Obviously we are all dancers so the musical theatre routine we did was to cats! It was okay, but not my favourite, as you know I love dogs not cats ;)

Next we had jazz funk! Our teacher was so talented! I just watched in admiration! It was like something you watch in a music video! I wish we did this class first because my brain was so tired that I switched off half way through - which was so frustrating because I was having an awesome time. He picked this totally wicked song and had so much sass it was brilliant! If I cant find any videos of him I will link them to you!

Once we got home we still had to find something to have for dinner. We ended up going to Hard Rock Cafe! Paige and I couldn't decide what to eat so we ended up getting three meals and had left overs for 2 days! Pizza, chicken tenders and nachos! So delish!

After that we decided to walk home past the chinese theatre and look at the stars and foot prints! Do you recognise any of these?

So after an intense day, I crashed hard! (Hence no post!). Ready to have more excitement the next day...
