 French Toast!

 Chicken Waffles!

We have had such an amazing time! I have got so much out of it, but am ready to come home! (Although, I hear it is freezing back home! AHHH)

It was super cool to see kia ora on the plane! Looking forward to the fresh air!

Today was very chilled. We went back to Santa Monica Pier and went to a Barcade!

The Pier was nice, really pretty and relaxed.

We also saw some cars being charged! Super strange but super cool! Do you know why they do this?

We went to the barcade with Kimi. It was super cool! They had all of these old school arcade games that you could play for FREE!!!
We played Packman, Donkey Kong, Mario, this Hamburger game - pretty much every game you could think of they had!
We also had really yummy dinner!

Dodgers Game!!!

Today was a cool day! We slept in and organised our bags and how much weight we had... it was a tight squeeze to get home, hopefully we don't find anything else we want to buy before we go home!

I got to catch up with an old friend who lives in LA! Her name is Kimi and she is super cool. It was great to catch up with her!

Then we went to a baseball game! LA Dodgers vs. NY Mets. It was amazing! The game was very fast paced (which apparently is unusual! We went to one of the best games Kimi had seen). The dodgers hit 2 home runs in the first 4 innings and ended up winning the game by 5 to 0! We also were sitting in a section that was all you can eat. We got hotdogs, popcorn, nachos, peanuts and soda - as much as we wanted, anytime throughout the game!
Such an awesome thing to do! I wished that we got to see more American sports while we were over there!

Universal take two!

Today we went to universal - It was pretty cool to take Andy there.

First we went on the studio tour. This is where you get to see behind the scenes how movies and tv shows are made. We saw sets for Jaws, Desperate Housewives and The Voice.

We also saw lots of vehicles that had been in the movies - Can you spot any you know?

The we went to the pet show! I love watching all the animals and seeing the tricks they have been taught. The other cool thing about these shows is that all of the animals are rescued from the pound or SPCA!

After that we went to a special effects seminar. They told us about stunt doubled and how they worked. Some of the stunts the men were doing looked amazing! Then they showed us about sound effects and doubling over sound into clips of movies. Pretty cool!

Then we went on the rides! Our favourite was The Mummy we went on it 2 times! Simpsons were also pretty cool!

The last thing we did was go to the water show. This had people doing stunts in and out of the water and on jet skis. It was amazing to watch.

Today we struggled to find stuff to do without a car!

We walked down Hollywood Blvd and Andy got to see all of the stars. We also went to the Chinese Theatre and looked at the hand prints again.

Then we decided that we needed a car again! So we went and rented one... after that we went on a drive through Beverly Hills and Hollywood Hills.
It is amazing the difference between Hollywood and Beverly. In Hollywood the roads are rough, there are power lines everywhere, the gardens are unkept and the fire hydrants are yellow or red. In Beverly Hills, the roads are smooth, the power lines go under the ground, the houses all have nice gardens with trimmed houses and the fire hydrants are painted silver!!!!

After that, we went to see Gold's Gym! That is Arnold Schwarzenegger's gym. It was pretty cool! The gym had two levels. It had a huge room of weights and mirrors, then another room of cardio, it went outside with a covered area, it had a boxing area. It was good to see that all of the machines they have, we have too!

Going to muscle beach and Santa Monica

When we woke up we were really gutted that the weather was so crummy! Today was our beach day! Luckily it cleared just as we were pulling up!
We walked all the way down Venice beach or muscle Beach as it is known over here.

The beach has all of this gym equipment about half way down and big body builders like Arnold Schwarzenegger used to train here back in the day!

We also saw a skate bowl which was pretty cool. Some talented guys were doing tricks!

Then we headed to Santa Monica pier... We ended up getting lunch and got distracted by shopping so will have to go back later in the week!!!

Then we went back to Hollywood so I could take Matt Steffania's class at IDA. The run down of the class is...
We did a basic warm up of heads, ribs, hips and stretch. It was pretty cool to be in such a packed class. I got stood on a few times but I also banged into a couple of people. You are literally dancing with just your body space around you, it's pretty nuts!
The whole class Matt was teaching to Gaga zoom noises, not counts. We learnt the first 32 counts before we even heard the music - they teach way differently over here!
Matt's main points were about hearing all of the music undertones and moving to the right one. There are background sounds that need to be picked up and accents to make with your head or a contraction.
After we learnt the whole routine we Broke into 4 groups and went over it again with more space which was nice!
Then he taught an extra 16 counts with 5 mins left in the class haha! I thought the routine was finished but he saved the hardest for last!
After that he picked people out of each group to be videoed and then we all did it did all together again...

Matt is a super nice guy. It was awesome to see him vibing off all of the individual flare added to his routine :) that's what is important here it seems!

Ready for Cedric 👍

Cedric's classes are amazing! He is so energetic and you can not help but have a good time! We learnt a few more dance hall moves but it was different to before. We learnt sets of moves and the music didn't stop - kind of like a gym dance class. This helped us with muscle memory of the sets and of the way to do the moves properly. We did the moves slowly first, then double time and then in combination with the other moves we had learnt.
After the class Cedric said to me that he loved my energy - which is an awesome compliment! After 2 hours of dancing you are a bit tired! So it's cool that he could see that I was enjoying the class! Unfortunately the video missed me out I was standing to the left of the girl on the right of the screen :(
