I have arrived!

After a short flight to Auckland and a longer flight to Los Angeles, I have finally made it!












The flight to Auckland went really quickly (it's only an hour and a half). But the flight to LA seemed to last forever!!!

We got split up all over the plane, luckily I was sitting with some of the girls on our tour. We had our own screens in the back of the head rest and could pick games to play and movies to watch from this. We found out we could also chat with other seats across the plane - that was pretty cool!  
I ended up watching 3 movies and playing all of the games as I couldn't get to sleep.

The flight had pretty bad turbulence; Every time I was just asleep, I got bumped back awake again.  We had some average meals. Chicken Tika Masala for dinner (which did strange things to my tummy and was served with peas!!!) and cereal with yoghurt for breakfast.






Once we got through customs we were loaded on to our tour bus. It was a short drive to our hotel (45mins). We went past downtown LA and the Hollywood sign!





The first place we are staying is called The Magic Castle. It is huge and bright yellow! There is a reason why it is called that - do you think you know why? Maybe, Mrs Howland will let you do some research?

When we got to the hotel I was so tired that I went straight to my room to sleep. The other girls went out exploring and came back with some yummy snacks, including a punnet of raspberries and strawberries (my favourite!).


We hadn't had much to eat so we decided to go out for dinner. We walked down Hollywood Blvd and came across a couple of restaurants. There are people everywhere here. We got told that the population here is 8million people - how much bigger than CHCH is that?

Alrighty, well today is Saturday - I seem to have gone back into the past and you are now from the future. I will write again tomorrow!
